Branch Associates provides services for clients who are interested in learning more about a particular issue or policy. Branch Associates staff have excellent research skills, and have developed comprehensive literature reviews, analyses of secondary data, and surveys of targeted populations. For example, Branch Associates wrote a comprehensive literature review on out-of-school time Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) youth programs to inform the development of a Boys & Girls Clubs of America national STEM programming strategy. Branch Associates has developed and administered surveys of young African Americans in four cities to aid in a tourism campaign, as well as a survey of nonprofit Executive Directors to examine differences between black-led and white-led organizations.
Branch Associates has experience writing concise and informative briefs on key policy issues. For example, Branch Associates and Abt Associates prepared an issue brief that provided insight into the extent to which faith- and community-based organizations succeeded in utilizing Compassion Capital Fund resources to enhance their organizational and service delivery capacity. In addition, results from the random assignment evaluation of nonprofit capacity building services were published in a journal dedicated to research in the nonprofit sector. Branch Associates has also written briefs for state health officials on tobacco control policies.
