Featured Project: Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Programs
Branch Associates has evaluated a number Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) programs, aimed at improving a variety of educational and social outcomes for low-income youth. Branch Associates evaluated Diplomas to Degrees, a college access program; Power Hour, a tutoring and homework help program; Money Matters, a financial literacy program; Youth for Unity, a diversity program; and Operation Connect, a technology program. These evaluations included both implementation and outcome studies. Branch Associates conducted site visits to Clubs across the U.S. to observe program activities, interview program staff, and lead focus groups of youth. In several of these evaluations, Branch Associates also conducted baseline and follow-up surveys in order to measure change in a variety of outcomes including program-specific knowledge, school engagement, and youth leadership. Deliverables included final reports, literature reviews, and toolkits to assist Clubs in collecting their own data for programmatic improvement.
