Alvia Branch (Ph.D., Social Psychology, Harvard University) is the founder and President of Branch Associates, Inc., a minority- and woman-owned research, evaluation, and technical assistance firm that has been in existence since 1994. A research and evaluation specialist with over 25 years of experience directing major research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects, Dr. Branch specializes in research and evaluation designs that combine both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Her areas of expertise include the evaluations of programs serving high-risk youth and adults; school-to-work initiatives and college access programs for at-risk youth; and the analysis of the role of faith- and community-based organizations in low-income communities.
Prior to founding Branch Associates, Dr. Branch held positions of increasing responsibility at several nationally-known research and development organizations. She was Staff Associate at the Social Science Research Council; Senior Research Associate at MDRC; and Vice President and Director of Research at Public/Private Ventures (P/PV).
